I found this sentence online in what is, ostensibly, a professionally written review of the new Mission Impossible movie:
Anyone worried that his gifts might not transfer from animation to live-action can breathe easy because "Ghost Protocol" contains some of the very best action scenes to hit movie screens this year and what is especially refreshing about them is that, with the exception of the knockout explosion at the Kremlin early on, the scenes rely less on over-the-top pyrotechnics and an obvious over-reliance on CGI trickery and more on pure filmmaking skill and a genuine sense of jaw-dropping spectacle that has become all too rare at a time when virtually any imaginable sight can be conjured up with a battery of computers.
It's fine with a little editing. (I left the colloquialism "breath easy.")
Anyone worried that Brad Bird’s gifts might not transfer from animation to live-action can breathe easy. "Ghost Protocol" contains some of the very best action scenes to hit movie screens this year. What is especially refreshing is that, with the exception of the knockout explosion at the Kremlin early on, the scenes rely less on over-the-top pyrotechnics and CGI trickery and more on pure filmmaking skill. The result is a genuine sense of jaw-dropping spectacle, all too rare when virtually any imaginable sight can be conjured up with a battery of computers.

True, but it's horrible without a little editing.

Oh it's inexcusable that anyone who writes for a living would string together all those clauses. But I have edited much worse. At least, I knew what Sobczynski was trying to say--although it took a couple of readings--and his point was worth the work.
What's even worse is struggling to edit something and then ending up with nothing at all, just words on a page with no clear purpose. Or your translation is "carrot" even though the writer intended "papaya."
