When I want to get a quick feel for the mass of critical opinion on a particular movie, I go to rottentomatoes.com. The people who run that site chase down as many reviews as possible for new releases, determine whether each review is generally positive or negative, and then assign a number indicating the percentage of positive reviews for the movie.
I'm thinking we need that same thing for politics. After President Obama's speech today, for example, it would have been great to have a synthesis of opinion from, say, 100 major editorial pages, columnists, bloggers, etc., with a single score serving as a measure of the overall response.
Somebody have a business plan on my desk by noon.
