Here's what President Obama's been saying about his deficit reduction plan vs. Paul Ryan's: "My plan saves $4 trillion; so does his. But his involves devastating cuts. Mine is more balanced."
And you know what? It probably is. Why? Because it only saves $2.5 trillion, not $4 trillion.
So says the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, in its re-estimate of the president's plan. (The Committee confirms, by the way, that Ryan's plan really does save $4 trillion.)
So, somebody go tell Paul Ryan that he only needs to find $2.5 trillion in savings over 10 years. I'll bet he can come up with a revised plan that's a LOT more attractive.
Alternatively, somebody could say to Barack Obama, "Hey, would you start acting like a frickin' president?"
