Would you abandon your children for Jennifer Connelly?

I watched "House of Sand and Fog" tonight. This one left Tom Cruise feeling depressed. It is one seriously gloomy movie.

But if you're a straight guy, check it out anyway. Why? Jennifer Connelly. She's an emotional wreck in the movie, broke, homeless, and a recovering alcoholic. She pays no attention to her appearance. And yet, she's still a goddess. One of the  characters has to decide whether to leave his wife and break the hearts of his young children in order to be with JC. That got me thinking about what I would do in his shoes.

I'm still thinking.

Footnote: it really is unfair how beautiful people catch all the breaks.

Would you leave Jennifer Connelley for Kate Winslet? Watch Little Children to see how Patrick Wilson decides.

As luck would have it, I rented the two movies together. I believe that I would leave the JC of "Little Children" for Kate Winslet, but not the JC of "House of Sand and Fog."

I read the book HoSaF and had to pass on seeing the movie even though it had Ben K. in it (he reminds me of an ex -- old and foreign). I knew how the movie was going to end. Reading it was bad enough; seeing it would have been worse.
